Provides assistance in carrying out the functions of the Human Resources Department under the guidance of the Manager of Human Resources; explains human resources policies and procedures, fringe benefits and administers benefits programs to employees and performs a variety of departmental administrative duties.


  • Acts as an information source on selected established personnel policies and procedures. 
  • Explains fringe benefits and responds to inquiries. 
  • Ensures the correct processing of claim forms. 
  • Assures that Human Resources Department's records and filing system are maintained and that employee records regarding insurance coverage, retirement and personnel transactions, e.g., hiring, training, promotions, evaluations, transfers, discipline and terminations are properly maintained. 
  • Reviews and screens applications for the purpose of filling departmental vacancies. 
  • Monitors compliance with Staff Training Plan. 
  • Inputs payroll data, (eg. changes, new hires, terminations) into the Center's payroll/HR automated system. 
  • Maintains a cross-referenced filing system for records and other materials in the Human Resources Department. 
  • Assures that all required employee certifications and licensing are current (e.g., I-9 forms). 
  • Performs management duties in the absence of the Manager of Human Resources. 
  • Schedules center training and provide new hire training as the need arises. 
  • Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students.  
  • Exhibits behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of the company. 
  • Practices social and employability skills with students and staff that are consistent with the established Job Corps Career Success Standards. 
  • Practices safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards and to maintain a safe workplace environment. 
  • Attends all required training. 
  • Complies with all established Company and Center Policies and Procedures. 
  • Works as part of the team to assure that Performance Outcome Measurement System goals are achieved. 
  • Models, supports and integrates employability skills, attitude and knowledge into all phases of career development. 
  • Operates Center vehicles to provide transportation for students as assigned/needed. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by designated and/or authorized staff.

 Associate Degree in Business Administration or a related field. Two years in responsible work directly related to the essential functions of the position.

 Substitution: Above the high school level one year of college education may be substituted for two years of Job Corps experience and vice versa.

Licenses or Certificates: 

n A valid Regular Driver License is required.
